1. About Papilla
Papilla is an educational platform for learning and practising dental X-ray interpretation. It includes practice cases on real radiographs, a reading test, and reference material.
These Terms govern your use of papilla.io and Papilla's related services. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Educational use only
Papilla is designed for learning, training, and reference. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dental, diagnostic, or treatment advice.
Do not use Papilla as a substitute for your own professional judgment, a qualified clinician's assessment, or any legally required clinical process. Do not make patient-care decisions solely on the basis of Papilla output.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that occurs through your account. You must provide accurate account information and must not use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive purposes.
4. Paid features and billing
Prices and the features included with a purchase are shown before checkout. Payment processing may be provided by third-party payment providers. Taxes may be added or handled by the payment provider where required.
The yearly pass renews every 12 months and the monthly pass every month, until you cancel it on your account page. We email you 30 days before each yearly renewal. The one-time pass is one payment for 12 months and does not renew.
The free trial opens the pass for 7 days and charges nothing. The card you give at checkout is charged $79 per year from the day the trial ends, until you cancel it on your account page. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing. We email you 3 days before the first charge. An account can take one trial.

5. Refunds
If you change your mind within 14 days of buying a pass, write to hello@papilla.io and we will refund the whole payment. You do not need to give a reason. On a renewing pass this covers the first payment. After a free trial, the 14 days run from the first charge.
Creem is the merchant of record for the purchase and processes the refund to the payment method you used.
Any refund or cancellation rights required by applicable law remain unaffected.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Papilla to:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, probe, scrape, or bypass security or usage limits;
- misrepresent Papilla output as a verified clinical diagnosis or professional medical advice; or
- use the service to create or support fraudulent, harmful, or abusive activity.
7. Intellectual property
Papilla's software, interface, branding, original educational content, and other materials are owned by Papilla or used under permission or licence. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you. You may use the service for its intended personal, educational, and professional learning purposes, but may not reproduce or resell protected Papilla content without permission.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Papilla available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or product development.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Papilla is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties that educational content will be error-free, complete, or fit for a particular clinical purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, Papilla will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the service, reliance on educational output, loss of data, or service interruption. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate access when an account materially violates these Terms, threatens the security or integrity of the service, or creates legal or operational risk. You may stop using Papilla at any time.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. Disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Dubai, UAE, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
