Dr. Wael Mansour

Dentist (BDS) · Founder of Papilla

Papilla is built by Dr. Wael Mansour, a dentist (BDS). It grew out of a gap he kept seeing: students can recite X-ray facts, but rarely get enough reps actually reading radiographs — the skill that decides real cases in clinic.

So Papilla puts you in front of real dental X-rays. You make your call, then see a licensed dentist's reasoning for the answer — caries or clean, landmark or lesion, what to do next. A few minutes a day, on radiographs checked by a licensed dentist, not too-perfect textbook pictures.

What Papilla is

Papilla is a dental X-ray practice app for dental and dental-hygiene students, and for early-career dentists who want more reading reps. Think of it as short, case-based practice — closer to Duolingo than a lecture. You read a radiograph, commit to an answer, then see why the finding is there, absent, or easy to mistake.

It covers the full board scope over time: caries detection, radiographic anatomy and landmarks, bone levels, pathology recognition, and panoramic interpretation. New terms are explained in plain language in the dental X-ray glossary.

Built for students

Made for dental and hygiene students and boards prep — the reps you don't get in class.

Real, reviewed radiographs

Every case is checked against a licensed dentist's read on a real radiograph.
